AAC-RERC Themes

In developing our research and development programs, we conducted a number of activities that engaged different constituencies to assist in identifying needs and setting future directions. To address the unmet needs identified by AAC stakeholders, four theme areas emerged.

1. New Interface Strategies for AAC Technologies
2. AAC Technologies to Reduce Cognitive/Linguistic Load
3. AAC Technologies to Increase Usability, Acceptance, and Learnability
4. Connecting to the World – AAC Access to Mainstream Technologies
