R1-B: Telework to Improve Employment Outcomes for AAC Users

Goals

The goals for this project are to:

  • Identify key barriers and supports to telework for AAC users.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of a model telework demonstration project in conjunction with industry and government partners.
  • Investigate the impact of web-based resource materials on the willingness of employers to hire individuals who use AAC.


Progress to Date

To date we have completed the following task on this project:

  • We have gathered information from individuals who use AAC and are participating in telework employment activities.
  • We have identified key benefits, drawbacks, supports, and barriers to telework activities.


Next Steps

The next steps on this projects are as follows

  • Continue to gather information on key supports to telework in partnership with individuals who use AAC and business partners.
  • Investigate the impact of web-based resource materials on the willingness of employers to hire individuals who use AAC.
